Hinduism Introduction!

Hinduism also known as Sanatan Dharma is a predominant religion followed in India and world having more than a billion followers. To understand Hinduism, one has to go through its origin, holy books, deities, Hinduism karma, practices, beliefs and many more…Hinduism is very vast and the oldest surviving religion.

As per reliable sources, origin of Hinduism was taken place millions of years back. It is one of the oldest religions in the world. It holds a very important position because of its holy books.

As per Wikipedia, Hinduism has been called as the oldest religion in the world. It holds a broad range of philosophies. Hinduism holy books discuss philosophy, theology, mythology, Vedic Yojna, Yoga, temple and agamic rituals. Followers of the religion believe in the 4 Purusarthas which are associated with the goals of human lives. They are Dharma (your duties), Artha (prosperity), Karma (desires) and Moksha (liberation). There are 4 largest denominations in the religion- Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism and Smartism. Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world. As per the world population, 15% to 16% are Hindus, residing primarily in India, Nepal and Mauritius.

The word “Hindu” is derived from the Indo-Aryan. The Hindu religion is a mixture of a diversity of ideas on traditions and spirituality which has no governing body, no prophets, no ecclesiastical order and no obligatory to holy book.
